Glasgow: Scotland with style offers a wide range of meetings facilities for corporate and incentive planners, which will provide the much sought after ‘wow factor’ and make any event unforgettable.
The following recent additions to Metropolitan Glasgow’s venues portfolio are set to be popular year-round with planners and delegates alike but will also be highly sought after during the festive period due to their own unique facilities:
- Glasgow Science Centre Launches ‘The Atrium’ with Futuristic Pyrotechnics
5-star visitor attraction, the Glasgow Science Centre (GSC) has unveiled a £1million futuristic glass space known as ‘The Atrium’, which will be a spectacular new events venue for the city.
The 500m2 area within Glasgow Science Centre has the capacity to hold banquet dinners for up to 400 guests, cocktail receptions for up to 500, awards ceremonies plus product launches, exhibitions and fashion shows.
With floor to ceiling glass, stretching three storeys, The Atrium is entered via a lit walkway over Glasgow Science Centre’s moat. Views through the glass show the striking curves of the Centre’s planetarium dome. Sparkling star cloth on the north and south walls adds to the dramatic entrance.
To coincide with the launch of the Atrium, Glasgow Science Centre has also unveiled the theatre of science – a pioneering new entertainments package for corporate events.
The Centre has worked with leading Glasgow theatre company, Theatre Modo, to create the first theatre of science – a selection of science-themed theatrics, which features futuristic pyrotechnic spectaculars, fiery creatures and party guests with an unexpected scientific twist.
- Snow Business at Xscape Braehead
Xscape Braehead, which is conveniently situated close to the M8 motorway and Glasgow International Airport, offers a unique conference centre, private meeting rooms and exclusive bar hire with the added bonus of having the UK’s largest indoor real snow slopes for skiing, snowboarding and tobogganing literally on site!
Xscape can accommodate up to 200 delegates and brings everything under one roof enabling delegates to combine strategic planning and seminars with the adrenalin of extreme sports and team building with a difference.
There is also the potential to hire the entire slope or part of it for major corporate events or launches.
Other features at Xscape include a climbzone complete with climbing wall, aerial assault course and fan drop.
The Convention Bureau of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau provides a one-stop shop to the area’s corporate and incentive meetings product, which features everything from dinner at a distillery to gala events in galleries and museums.
