Ford “Music on the Move” exhibition comes to Glasgow

Ford 'Music on the Move' Exhibition comes to Glasgow
Ford’s unique orchestra made up entirely of Ford Focus car parts will be coming to Glasgow later this month as part of a nationwide tour in support of Teenage Cancer Trust.

The Focus Music on the Move exhibition, featuring a selection of car-part instruments from the popular TV ad, will take place at The Old Fruitmarket from 24-26 April.

The unusual exhibition will give the general public a one-off chance to view and listen to some of the car parts.  The spectacular instruments will be on display with informative descriptions on how they work and from which part of the car they were developed.

The tour was brought about due to an increasing interest and inquisitiveness from the public on whether the instruments were real and actually played the music that is shown in the commercial.

Although entrance to both the exhibition and live music performances at the Old Fuitmarket are free, donations to Teenage Cancer Trust are encouraged and the fundraising will also help raise funds for a new Teenage Cancer Trust unit at Yorkhill Hospital.

At the end of the UK tour a number of the instruments will be auctioned to raise money for Teenage Cancer Trust and musicians and celebrities who try out the Ford Focus instruments are being asked to sign them.  Well known signatures already include Mike Rutherford from Genesis and Kenney Jones from The Who.

The exhibition at The Old Fruitmarket is open from 11am to 6pm daily with live performances on the car part instruments, which are currently featured in the Ford TV ad, at 1.15pm and 5.15pm.
