Who Should Join

 
Each year approximately 200 local businesses choose to join the Convention Bureau.  The membership is extremely diverse from hotels and restaurants to shops and venues, reflecting wide appreciation of the benefits of business tourism.
 
You are invited to apply for membership of the Convention Bureau if you can offer one or more of the following services:
 
  • You have dedicated conference and/or event facilities.
 
  • You have bedroom accommodation, which is suitable for use by conference delegates
 
  • You specialise in conference groups i.e. social programmes, pre and post conference tours and incentive travel.
 
  • Your business is set up to organise and co-ordinate all/some elements of a conference or event.
 
  • Your business provides as supporting role to conferences/events (e.g. audio visual facilities, simultaneous interpretations services, entertainment organisers).
 
  • Your venue is available for exclusive hire for private group activities, private performances or has private dining facilities.
 
  • Your business can offer transportation for VIPs or specialised group activities on a private charter basis.
 
  • Your business can offer tailored events.  For example, retail outlets which can accommodate fashion shows that can be incorporated in a social programme for delegates and an accompanying persons programme.
 
  • Your business benefits from business tourism and/or events and you want to increase your market share.  For example, attractions, restaurants and shops can all benefit from targeted promotion.
